Government must ensure fair prices for beekeepers, not just protect exports

India's honey export sector is growing, but beekeepers are not seeing proportional gains from the trade, according to analysis. The government should track procurement prices, producer margins, processing costs, and compliance expenses to ensure a fair share of export revenue reaches farmers.
Currently, focus remains on protecting export volumes rather than securing viable incomes for beekeepers. Better oversight of inventory buildup and price movements across the supply chain is needed to address income disparities in the sector.
