Man Posing as IPS Officer Arrested After Refusing to Pay for Tea in Lucknow

A man pretending to be an IPS officer was arrested in Lucknow's Mahanagar area after a dispute with a tea stall owner over an unpaid bread packet. The accused took the item without paying and later demanded "respect" from on-duty police, insisting they salute him.
When constables arrived, the man repeatedly claimed to be posted in Noida but was confronted by officers who asked him to produce his uniform and identity card. One constable told him directly that no salute would be offered to someone in civilian clothes.
Lucknow Police confirmed the arrest on social media, stating a case has been registered at Mahanagar Police Station under appropriate sections and legal proceedings are underway.
