Father and daughter arrested in Uttar Pradesh over religious conversion case

A medicine trader in Uttar Pradesh lodged a police complaint alleging that his son was converted to Islam under the pretext of marriage. The complaint led to the arrest of the son and a woman, along with nine others being booked under the state's anti-conversion law.
Devraj Malik alleged that his son Ayush Malik, 30, was converted years ago through a marriage arrangement with a woman named Chandni. The case reflects ongoing tensions over religious conversions in the state, which has strict anti-conversion legislation.
