First flight from Jewar Airport carries 170 farmers to Lucknow

Jewar International Airport in Noida operated its first special flight on Monday, June 15, 2026, to Lucknow carrying 170 farmers who had contributed land for the airport's construction. The farmers were given a ceremonial reception at the Chief Minister's residence in Lucknow, where they presented a memento to CM Yogi Adityanath and expressed their gratitude.
CM Adityanath told the farmers that Jewar has become a region where even prosperity would want to come. He thanked IndiGo Airlines for beginning commercial operations from the airport, and recalled how he had persuaded reluctant farmers to part with their land by convincing them the airport would transform their fortunes.
