FM Sitharaman signals continued tariff rationalisation, more steps expected in FY28 Budget
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed that the government's import tariff rationalisation efforts will persist, with additional steps anticipated in the 2027-28 Budget.
Sitharaman also outlined India's Viksit Bharat vision for 2047, envisioning a developed nation characterised by zero poverty and universal access to education and healthcare. She described India's destiny as becoming a prosperous and responsible civilisation.
