Four arrested in Bengaluru university fraud involving Rs 1.40 crore

Four people have been arrested in connection with a fraud case at a Bengaluru university involving the misappropriation of Rs 1.40 crore. The accused allegedly impersonated a senior university official to carry out the financial crime.
The fraud scheme involved posing as a high-ranking administrator of the institution, enabling the accused to gain access to university accounts and divert funds. The conspiracy came to light during a routine audit or complaint review, prompting authorities to launch an investigation.
Police have registered a case and are examining the roles played by each of the four accused. Further investigation is underway to recover the stolen funds and determine whether other individuals were complicit in the scheme.
