FPIs inject over $3.2 billion into Indian equities in August

Foreign portfolio investors channelled over $3.2 billion into Indian equities during August, marking their strongest monthly inflow since September 2024. The investment surge reflected renewed confidence in domestic markets.
Consumer Services emerged as the preferred sector for overseas investors, followed by Financial Services and Healthcare. These three segments attracted the bulk of FPI capital during the period.
However, not all sectors benefited equally. Telecom and Power continued to face significant FPI outflows, indicating selective investor positioning within the Indian market.
