Global agencies raise India's FY27 GDP growth forecast to 6.9-7.1%

Major global agencies including the OECD, Asian Development Bank, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings have raised their GDP growth forecasts for India in FY27, now ranging from 6.9% to 7.1%. The upgrades reflect confidence in strong domestic demand, robust investment sentiment, thriving services sector and healthy exports.
The revisions come on the back of India's impressive 7.8% GDP growth recorded in the June quarter. However, agencies have cautioned about downside risks, including geopolitical tensions, potential weather disruptions and rising inflation. Some institutions have also flagged the possibility of the RBI raising interest rates in response to inflationary pressures.
