Global edible oil market to remain volatile amid supply pressures: SEA

The global edible oil market is likely to face volatility driven by multiple factors, according to Sanjeev Asthana, President of the Solvent Extractors Association (SEA).
Asthana cited El Niño weather patterns, uncertainty surrounding sunflower oil supplies due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and Indonesia's B50 biodiesel programme as key risks that could disrupt the global vegetable oil balance.
These factors are expected to create supply-side pressures and influence pricing in international edible oil markets in the coming period.
