Global Shapers Kohima donates ₹22,400 from Run for Hope to mental health organisations

The Global Shapers Kohima Hub on September 20 handed over registration proceeds from 'Run for Hope 2026' to two mental health organisations. The Hub contributed ₹22,400 total: ₹11,200 in cash to Gracious Life Foundation, Chümoukedima, and utilities and recreational equipment worth ₹11,200 to the State Mental Health Institute, Kohima.

The 5 km community run was held on September 10 at Indira Gandhi Stadium to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. Over 450 individuals participated, with nearly 200 completing the run under the theme 'Every Step Gives Hope'. The initiative aimed to promote open conversations on mental well-being and suicide prevention while channelling community support to local mental health organisations working with affected individuals.
