Goa MLA flags alleged transfer of over 50 voters between constituencies

A Goa Member of the Legislative Assembly has alleged that over 50 voters have been irregularly transferred from one constituency to another. The MLA did not specify the details of which constituencies were affected or the timeline of the alleged transfers.
The Chief Electoral Officer responded to the allegation, stating that the matter would be examined. The CEO's office is expected to conduct a verification process to establish whether the transfers violated electoral norms or were carried out through proper channels.
Voter transfers between constituencies can occur when individuals relocate their residence. However, such transfers must follow established electoral procedures to ensure the integrity of the voting roll.
