Gold Rises ₹500 To ₹1,49,800 Per 10 Gram In Delhi On Weak Rupee, Firm Global Trend

Gold prices rose ₹500 to ₹1,49,800 per 10 grams in Delhi on Thursday, marking the second consecutive session of gains. The rally was supported by a weaker rupee, which closed at 96.31 against the dollar—its weakest level in over two months—and a firm global trend. Silver, however, declined ₹5,000 to ₹2.27 lakh per kilogram.
Despite the recent recovery, gold has lost nearly 2 per cent (₹2,800) this week, while silver shed 4.2 per cent (₹10,000). Globally, spot gold rose 0.29 per cent to USD 4,169.06 per ounce, buoyed by softer US inflation data that reduced expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike. Bullion markets will remain shut on Friday for Gandhi Jayanti.
