GQG Partners cuts Adani Power stake to 5.72% through share sale
GQG Partners entities have reduced their combined stake in Adani Power to 5.72% from 5.74% through on-market share transactions. The fund sold 50.39 lakh shares as part of the stake reduction.
The disclosure comes as Adani Power shares have gained 27.05% in value during 2026. The company is simultaneously expanding its operations into hydropower generation in Bhutan, signalling growth beyond its core domestic coal-based generation business.
The stake reduction by GQG Partners, a significant institutional investor, reflects normal portfolio adjustments. Adani Power remains a major player in India's power generation sector with its expanding renewable and hydropower portfolio.
