Haiwaan Expected to Open Low at Box Office Despite Star Cast

Haiwaan, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, released on Friday with average pre-release buzz and weak advance bookings. A remake of the Malayalam film Oppam, it has received mixed to negative reviews from critics and audiences.

Early estimates project the film will collect around Rs 2.50-3 crore on its first day—a disappointing opening for a Priyadarshan-directed project featuring both actors. The collection could improve if evening shows attract better footfalls.

The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 100-115 crore. According to reports, it has already recovered around 70% of its budget through non-theatrical rights sales, though this remains unconfirmed.
