22 years after Nafisa Joseph's death, high court refuses to discharge businessman in abetment case

A high court has refused to discharge a Pali Hill-based businessman in the abetment case linked to the death of model and VJ Nafisa Joseph, more than two decades after the incident. The businessman, who worked in auto spare parts manufacturing and export, was 31 when he began dating Joseph, then 24, in 2003. The couple got engaged in May 2004.
According to police records, the accused had misrepresented his marital status to Joseph, claiming he had divorced his wife, Naushin Khan. The court's refusal to discharge him means the case will proceed to trial.
