Hyderabad civic bodies deploy cranes, sanitation teams for Ganesh immersion

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Municipal Corporation of Malkajgiri (MMC) have deployed extensive resources for Ganesh idol immersion on Friday. The GHMC has positioned 110 static and 170 mobile cranes at baby ponds and over 40 major lakes, while 136 Ganesh Action Teams will manage 3-4 km stretches along procession routes. Around 770 sanitation workers will operate round-the-clock at immersion points, supported by 6,000 sweeping staff for waste clearance along routes.
The civic bodies have set up 12 joint control rooms with police and arranged 287 mobile toilets, 45,000-50,000 temporary lighting points, and distributed 5 lakh litter bags. Medical services including ambulances and paramedical teams will be stationed at key locations. The MMC has designated 39 immersion centres across three zones with 84 cranes and 1,356 sanitation workers deployed in shifts, supported by Disaster Response Force teams, swimmers, and boats at major points.
