Hyderabad Metro expansion stalled pending Centre approval

A proposed expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail faces delays as officials cite the need for Centre-State joint venture clearances to proceed. The 122.9 km project, estimated at ₹38,595 crore, requires government approval before low-interest funding can be accessed for land acquisition and construction.
Without these formal clearances from the Centre, state authorities say the metro expansion cannot move forward. The project is crucial for expanding public transport infrastructure in the city.
