IIT Indore's HydroVerse AI Advances to NSIC 2026 Top 11 Finals

The Water, Climate and Sustainability Lab at IIT Indore has advanced to the top 11 finalists of the National Climate Stack Innovation Challenge (NSIC) 2026, organised under NABARD. The challenge drew over 150 proposals nationwide; IIT Indore was shortlisted among the top 20 before reaching finals with a functional prototype.
HydroVerse AI, developed under Prof. Manish Kumar Goyal, is an AI-powered platform that forecasts floods, droughts, heatwaves and agricultural stress at district level. It combines artificial intelligence, machine learning, satellite data and climate projections to provide early warnings and decision-support tools for farmers, policymakers, disaster agencies and researchers.
The prototype has been validated across all Madhya Pradesh districts using historical climate data and projections extending to 2040. IIT Indore Director Prof. Suhas Joshi said the recognition reflects how cutting-edge technology can address critical societal challenges and build climate resilience.
