INA Trust seeks memorial at Red Fort, cites unfulfilled govt promise

The INA trust, established in memory of Lalti Ram, a veteran of the Indian National Army, has moved the Delhi High Court over the absence of a permanent memorial at the Red Fort. The trust claims the government made a commitment in 2021 to establish a memorial honouring the sacrifice of Netaji's soldiers at the location where they were tried.
The petitioner argues that despite the passage of time and the government's promise, no concrete steps have been taken to create the memorial. The Red Fort remains significant in INA history as the site where several freedom fighters associated with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's armed struggle faced trial.
