Several Indian players are approaching elite world rankings. Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty are close to breaking into the global top ten, while P V Sindhu is ranked 9th. The men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty hold the world No. 1 ranking, though they narrowly lost at the championship. Women's doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand reached the semi-finals before losing to China's top-ranked pairing.
