India among seven nations bidding to host 2036 Olympics

India has officially entered the race to host the 2036 Olympics, joining six other nations in the bidding process. The country's proposal centres on Ahmedabad, which plans to capitalise on its prior experience organising major sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games.

The International Olympic Committee will vote to select the host city in 2029. Other bidders for the Games include Qatar, South Korea, and Germany, among others competing for the opportunity to stage the global sporting event.
