India a 'bright spot' amid global uncertainty: Shaktikanta Das

Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has described India as a 'bright spot' in an uncertain global economic environment. He pointed to India's average annual real GDP growth of 7.9% between 2021-22 and 2025-26, with growth in the first quarter of 2026-27 reaching 7.8%.
Das attributed India's economic momentum to robust domestic demand, strong industrial and services activity, and a series of structural reforms undertaken by the government. The sustained growth rate underscores India's resilience amid global headwinds.
