India cuts export levy on diesel, raises it on petrol

The government has reduced the windfall export levy on diesel to ₹8.50 per litre, down from ₹16 per litre, in a bid to ease shipments of the fuel.
Simultaneously, the levy on petrol exports has been increased to ₹2.50 per litre from ₹0.50 per litre, reflecting market dynamics and revenue considerations.
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) remains unaffected by the revision. The changes aim to balance export competitiveness with fiscal objectives as global energy prices fluctuate.
