India's net direct tax collections rise 13% to Rs 12.1 lakh crore till mid-September

India's net direct tax collections rose 12.96% year-on-year to Rs 12.12 lakh crore as of September 17, according to government data. Gross collections increased 15.19% to Rs 14.32 lakh crore during the same period.

Refunds issued rose 29.19% to Rs 2.20 lakh crore. Collections from corporate tax, non-corporate tax and Securities Transaction Tax all showed growth in the fiscal year so far.
