India's factory activity rebounds sharply in September, PMI hits 7-month high
India's manufacturing sector showed strong recovery in September after a three-month slowdown, with the HSBC India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index rising to 55.1, marking a 7-month high. The rebound was driven by notable growth in factory activity across various product categories.
New orders increased significantly as manufacturers reported higher demand both domestically and from multiple international clients. The surge in export demand contributed substantially to the sector's recovery.
Employment in the manufacturing sector also expanded during the period, recovering from a decline recorded in August, signalling improving business confidence and capacity expansion.
