India finishes fourth as Nagoya Asian Games conclude with 'One Asia' celebration

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games concluded with a closing ceremony at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium on October 4, 2026, celebrating the theme 'One Asia'. During the ceremony, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag was handed over to Doha, marking the official transition ahead of the 2030 Asian Games.
India finished fourth in the overall medal tally with a total of 85 medals, comprising 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze. While this haul fell short of the record 107 medals won at the previous Games in Hangzhou, the Indian contingent's performance was marked by a remarkable late surge, historic breakthroughs, and gold medals across both individual and team events.
The closing ceremony marked the official end of the 20th edition of the continental sporting showpiece, which showcased memorable contests and historic performances from some of Asia's finest athletes across various disciplines over the two-week competition period.
