India needs Rs 172 trillion infrastructure investment by FY31, says NaBFID-BCG report
India needs between Rs 168 trillion and Rs 172 trillion in infrastructure investment through the fiscal year ending March 2031, according to a joint report by the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure Development (NaBFID) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The report highlights that Rs 78-80 trillion remains outside the announced project pipeline and requires financing.
The report emphasizes that much of future infrastructure demand will come from urban development and greenfield projects. To bridge the financing gap, it calls for strengthened project preparation, development of viable revenue models, and mobilization of greater private capital investment.
