India's logistics sector projected to reach $600 billion by 2031-32

India's logistics sector is on track to expand significantly, with projections placing its value at $600 billion by 2031-32, according to a Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) official.
The sector currently contributes more than 13% to India's gross domestic product and plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing growth. Logistics costs are estimated at 8% of the country's total GDP.
The expansion reflects India's growing need for efficient supply chain infrastructure as manufacturing output increases. The projected growth underscores the sector's strategic importance in supporting the nation's economic development over the coming decade.
