India-made bullet train to undergo track tests in May-June 2027

India's domestically manufactured semi-high-speed train is set for track testing in May-June 2027, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced. The train will operate on the Mumbai-Vadodara route, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities to 1.5 hours from the current duration.
The project marks a significant step in India's push toward indigenous rail technology and reduced dependence on foreign manufacturers for advanced rail systems.
