India to regain economic momentum, return to current account surplus: NITI Aayog

NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Lahiri expressed confidence that the Indian economy is performing reasonably well and will return to a current account surplus in the near term.
Lahiri identified low manufacturing share in GDP as a significant challenge for the economy. He noted that foreign investment in sectors like renewables is having a positive impact on growth prospects.
The NITI Aayog official also called for improved credit appraisal mechanisms for micro, small and medium enterprises using UPI data, to enhance financial inclusion and support MSME growth.
