India-U.S. trade deal finalised, implementation pending clarity on competitive advantage: Goyal

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the India-U.S. trade deal has been finalised and is undergoing final legal drafting. He stated that implementation will proceed once there is clarity on India's competitive advantage in key sectors.
Goyal's statement comes shortly after both Indian and American officials had indicated that negotiations were facing hurdles and that a final agreement might take longer to materialise. The remarks suggest progress despite earlier signs of stalled talks between the two nations.
The bilateral trade negotiations have been a focus of discussions between India and the United States as both countries seek to strengthen economic ties. The deal, once fully executed, is expected to cover various sectors of mutual interest.
