India's defence sector poised for growth as spending surges and indigenous weapons gain credibility
India's defence sector is entering a new phase of growth, supported by rising government spending and increased credibility of domestically developed weapons systems. Defence expenditure has climbed significantly from ₹2.53 trillion in FY14 to ₹6.81 trillion in FY26.
The government's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative is creating long-term opportunities in the sector. Combat deployment of indigenous weapons has strengthened the export potential and credibility of locally manufactured defence systems.
