Indian riders face international ban as FEI suspends Equestrian Federation
Indian equestrian riders risk exclusion from international competitions following the International Equestrian Federation's suspension of the Equestrian Federation of India, effective December 1. The move stems from ongoing governance issues and leadership irregularities within the EFI that remain unresolved.
The crisis deepened after the Delhi High Court dissolved the EFI's executive committee in February 2026. Since then, no elections have been held to reconstitute the federation's leadership, leaving the organization in administrative limbo.
The FEI suspension will prevent Indian riders from competing in global equestrian events until the federation resolves its internal governance problems and conducts fresh elections to restore normalcy.
