Indian rice export prices hit over one-year high amid supply concerns
Indian rice export prices have climbed to their highest level in over a year, reflecting broader supply concerns across Asia's rice markets. The rise comes as Vietnamese prices also gain ground, bolstered by anticipated strong demand from the Philippines in November.
Thailand's rice prices are increasing due to flooding-related delays in the harvest season, combined with a rush in purchasing activity before the season concludes. The supply-side pressures are being felt across consumer markets in the region as well.
Bangladesh has experienced rising paddy prices, which have translated into higher costs for consumers already grappling with elevated living expenses. The regional price movements underscore tightening supply conditions in a key global rice-producing area.
