Indore BRTS Commuters Complain of Longer Travel Times, Ticketing Issues

Indore's Bus Rapid Transit System has faced mounting complaints from commuters following its transition to mixed traffic operations. The shift has resulted in longer travel times, increased traffic congestion, and problems with fare collection, according to users.
Commuters say the removal of automated ticketing and introduction of conductors has led to allegations of fares being collected without issuing tickets. Additionally, roadside stopping points lack basic amenities such as seating, shelters, and route maps, making travel inconvenient for new passengers.
Multiple commuters noted that the BRTS, once known for dedicated corridors and faster service, now operates similarly to local buses. They highlighted issues with unscheduled stops and instances where passengers paid fares but did not receive tickets in return.
