Indore High Court Rebukes MP Government Over Unpaid Medical Bills for Gas Accident Victims

The Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore Bench on Thursday expressed strong displeasure with the state government for furnishing allegedly false information regarding hospital expenses for victims of a gas pipeline accident in Vijay Nagar. While the government claimed all treatment costs had been borne by the state, lawyers representing victims contested this, citing unpaid bills.
Counsel for influencer Jini Jhala, who suffered burn injuries, informed the court that her continued treatment in Ahmedabad had incurred bills of approximately Rs 14 lakh that remained unpaid. Other victims' representatives similarly stated their treatment costs had not been fully reimbursed. The court questioned the discrepancy and directed the Juni Indore SDM to file an affidavit and appear personally at the next hearing scheduled for Friday.
The court also took note of the matter against corporator Balmukund Soni, against whom a case was earlier directed to be registered.
