Indore industrialists seek easier access to defence import data

Local industrialists and startup entrepreneurs in Indore expressed interest in contributing to India's defence manufacturing self-reliance drive at a workshop on Tuesday. Participants requested access to imported defence product data to help reduce import dependence and encourage domestic production. They also called for lower R&D costs for defence manufacturing startups and a more user-friendly SRIJAN portal.
The workshop, jointly organised by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation and the Department of Defence Production, was attended by over 100 representatives from MSMEs, startups, educational institutions and research bodies. Divisional Commissioner Dr Sudam Khade chaired the event and assured participants their suggestions would be forwarded to relevant authorities.
