Indore Metro to Expand Beyond City, Linking Ujjain and Pithampur: CM Yadav

Indore's Metro network will be expanded beyond the city to connect with Ujjain, Pithampur and other regional centres, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said while inaugurating the system's first phase on Saturday. The expansion is part of a broader regional connectivity strategy to strengthen links between urban and industrial areas in the region.
Yadav also highlighted the recently approved Rs 18,000 crore Indore-Manmad railway line, calling it a significant achievement for Indore and Madhya Pradesh. Once completed, the railway route will provide direct connectivity without requiring travel through Gujarat or Maharashtra, further strengthening regional development.
Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said the original Metro proposal envisioned connections to Pithampur, Mhow, Dewas and Ujjain. The Chief Minister has now approved a second phase expansion towards Ujjain, with future phases planned towards Pithampur.
