Indore Metro Phase 2 Launch Delayed; PM Modi Inauguration Speculated

The inauguration of Indore Metro's second phase Super Priority Corridor has been delayed again, despite senior state officials reviewing the project's progress on Wednesday. Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey, along with Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director S Krishna Chaitanya, inspected construction sites, elevated sections and metro stations to assess construction quality, safety standards and operational readiness.
The Super Priority Corridor, extending from Gandhi Nagar to Registan Square, is fully prepared for inauguration. Originally scheduled for around June 20, the launch date has been deferred with no revised schedule disclosed. Speculation suggests Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the corridor, though no official confirmation has been made. Dubey also reviewed preparations for the underground metro corridor's Tunnel Boring Machine launch site, utility shifting and traffic management arrangements.
Meanwhile, trial runs on the new section continue successfully, including late-night operations to assess system readiness. The inauguration date appears to be awaiting approval from higher authorities.
