Seven Indore police personnel, including station in-charge, suspended over assault allegations by BJP workers

A minor road dispute in Indore escalated into a major controversy after BJP worker Jaideep Dubey and his brother-in-law Pankaj Choubey accused police of assaulting them inside Aerodrome Police Station on Friday night. The incident triggered a massive protest by over 400 supporters of BJP MLA Golu Shukla, following which seven police personnel were suspended.
According to Dubey, the dispute began around 5:30 pm when a scooter rider allegedly abused and assaulted him near his house over sudden braking. He claimed the rider also misbehaved with his wife and children and threatened to kill them. When Dubey approached the police station to lodge a complaint, he said he received no immediate assistance despite informing officers about chest pain.
Later that night, Dubey returned to the station with Choubey, a BJP mandal vice-president. They alleged that police personnel accused them of using political influence and assaulted them with sticks, kicks and punches. Dubey's wife also alleged the station in-charge engaged in inappropriate conduct during an argument.
