Over 5 Lakh Children To Get Polio Drops In Indore On June 28

The Indore district administration will administer polio drops to over five lakh children below five years of age on June 28 as part of the nationwide Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign. The decision was finalised at a District Task Force meeting chaired by District Collector Shivam Verma.
Vaccination will be carried out through booth-based immunisation on the first day, followed by door-to-door visits over two subsequent days. The drive will deploy more than 3,600 booths and mobile teams along with over 8,000 health workers and volunteers. Special attention will be given to migrant families, slum areas, construction sites and nomadic communities.
India has remained polio-free since 2011, but continued cases in Afghanistan and Pakistan necessitate regular immunisation drives. Transit booths will be set up at railway stations and bus stands to ensure comprehensive coverage.
