104-Year-Old Indore School Transforms Girls' Science Education With New Facilities

Government Sharda Girls Higher Secondary School in Indore, a 104-year-old institution, is transforming science education for students through investments in modern classroom facilities. The school now features telescopes, space-science models, and interactive learning tools that have shifted teaching from textbook-based memorisation to practical, observation-based learning.
The transformation reflects broader improvements in Madhya Pradesh's education landscape. During the recent School Chale Hum campaign, government schools recorded a 32.4 per cent increase in enrolment, with some students returning from private institutions. Students and teachers report that hands-on learning has increased classroom participation and interest in science subjects, while also reducing financial burden on families seeking quality education.
