Indore Sets World Record With 13.10 Lakh Trees at Reoti Range

Indore has achieved a world record with 13,10,012 trees now standing at Reoti Range, according to the Asia Book of World Records. The milestone follows a massive plantation drive in 2024 when Indore residents, alongside Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, planted over 12,41,000 saplings in a single day at the site. A nursery was subsequently established to replace saplings that did not survive, and another one lakh saplings were planted in 2025.
The record verification confirmed the survival and thriving status of saplings planted two years ago. During a plantation drive on Sunday where 51,000 additional trees were planted, BJP national organisation general secretary BL Santosh linked the achievement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative. He highlighted that Indore, already India's cleanest city for the past decade, should now aim to become the country's greenest and pollution-free city. Vijayvargiya described the occasion as emotional, noting the visible transformation of Reoti Range from rocky terrain to green landscape.
