Traffic Chaos in Indore as Maharana Pratap Jayanti Rallies Cripple City Movement

Indore experienced significant traffic disruptions on Wednesday as processions and rallies marking Maharana Pratap Jayanti created gridlock across multiple areas. Major congestion was reported at Vijay Nagar Square, Palasia Square, Rasoma Square, Geeta Bhawan Square and other key intersections, with commuters stranded for over an hour.
Office-goers, school students and daily commuters faced extended delays due to inadequate traffic diversions and route management. Police presence at critical junctions appeared insufficient, while temporary road closures lacked proper public notification. The situation deteriorated during evening rush hour as procession vehicles moved through busy roads, creating bottlenecks on major corridors.
Residents expressed frustration on social media, questioning why better traffic planning was not implemented despite the annual nature of the celebrations.
