Interstate 'Thak-Thak' Gang Busted in Indore; 5 Arrested with Goods Worth ₹50 Lakh

Police in Indore have dismantled a five-member interstate gang from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, accused of staging accidents at busy traffic signals to rob drivers. Officers seized 33 high-end mobile phones, a laptop and a car modified with a hidden compartment in the gearbox. The gang had previously committed crimes in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The gang targeted solo drivers at congested junctions by staging fake accidents. One member would block or pretend to be hit by a vehicle, while accomplices distracted the driver and stole cash, bags or phones from open windows. They also carried chilli powder to use against resistant victims. In June, businessman Manoj Jain lost ₹1 lakh from his SUV near Teen Imli Bridge in a similar incident.
Police arrested all five accused from Himmat Nagar Ground after analysing CCTV footage and tracing their vehicle near Rau Circle.
