“Is Telangana Your Father’s Place?”: Pawan Kalyan Fires Back At Congress Leaders After Hyderabad Event Row

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan launched a blistering attack on sections of the Congress leadership in Telangana after a dispute erupted over his proposed political programme in Hyderabad.
The controversy gained momentum after authorities declined permission for Jana Sena’s Telangana Nava Nirman Sabha, prompting the party to seek legal intervention. After failing to secure immediate relief, Pawan Kalyan announced that he would address the media from his residence in Hyderabad instead.
Reacting strongly to criticism from Congress leaders who questioned the necessity of his programme, Pawan Kalyan asked, “Is Telangana your father’s place? Who are you to threaten me?” His remarks quickly intensified the political confrontation and drew attention across both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Jana Sena chief accused some Congress leaders of attempting to create unnecessary divisions and challenged the party’s national leadership to clarify its position. Referring to the criticism directed at him, he said, “A few Congress leaders are behaving like separatists,” while stressing that India’s federal structure allows citizens to live, work and engage politically across state boundaries.
Pawan Kalyan maintained that his connection with Telangana extends beyond electoral politics and is rooted in his long-standing engagement with the state. He highlighted his visits to several districts over the years, including tribal and remote regions, and said his relationship with Telangana was built on affection and cultural respect.
The remarks came shortly after Telangana Formation Day celebrations, during which Pawan Kalyan extended greetings to the people of the state and reiterated his support for Telangana’s identity, culture and development.
