Residents Demand Drainage Fix on Jaora Road Ahead of Chehlum Gathering

Residents of Bamankhedi and Rozana villages in Jaora, Madhya Pradesh, have demanded urgent action to address severe waterlogging and drainage issues on the Bamankhedi-Rozana Road. The absence of a proper drainage system has led to stagnant water accumulation, creating health hazards including foul odours, mud, and mosquito breeding grounds. Household wastewater flows directly onto the road while garbage collects in the area.
The timing is critical as the Chehlum event at Hussain Tekri, which attracts thousands of devotees, is approaching. Led by HAM National Secretary Farooq Khan, residents submitted a memorandum to SDM Sunil Jaiswal and CEO Balwant Nalwaya, demanding drainage construction and streetlight installation. Khan warned the administration would be held responsible for any incidents if conditions remain unaddressed.
