Uttar Pradesh's Jewar Airport Named After Modi

Uttar Pradesh's Jewar Airport has been named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi laid the foundation stone for the greenfield airport on November 25, 2021, and inaugurated its first phase on March 28, 2026.
Commercial flight operations commenced at the airport on June 15, marking a significant milestone in the state's aviation infrastructure development.
The airport project, located in Jewar near Delhi, is expected to ease congestion at existing airports in the National Capital Region and serve as a major transportation hub for the region.
