Jharkhand High Court orders government to appoint JPSC chief and members within two months
The Jharkhand High Court has directed the state government to appoint a new chairman and members of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission within two months.
The order comes after former JPSC chairman L. Khiangte was arrested on August 10. A day earlier, all three members of the commission resigned amid widespread protests by civil service aspirants over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the body.
The court's intervention underscores the crisis at the commission and the government's need to restore institutional credibility in the recruitment process.
