Jharkhand widow completes 1,600m run barefoot for home guard position

Kavita Mahto, a widow from Jharkhand, completed a 1,600-metre running test for a home guard position without shoes or proper equipment, finishing well ahead of the official time limit. According to Ajay Karmali, director of the HMT Physical Academy in Dulmi, Mahto's performance impressed officials despite the challenging circumstances she faced during the assessment.

Her determination to complete the course barefoot and without standard athletic gear has drawn attention to her resolve in pursuing employment opportunities despite material constraints.
